CANADIAN JOURNAL OF FILM STUDIES /
REVUE CANADIENNE D'ÉTUDES CINÉMATOGRAPHIQUES
Winning Cover Design - Spring 2001 (Vol. 10, No. 1)
An issue of the Canadian Journal of Film Studies was selected as a winner in the 2002 National Magazine Cover Competition, and exhibited in "On the Cover: A Nation As Seen Through Its Magazine Covers," a cross-country exhibition, from February to May 2002. Two winners were chosen in each of 12 categories, and the cover of the Spring 2001 number (vol. 10, no. 1, the purple issue), which features a still from Richard Fung's 1997 release Dirty Laundry, was one of the winners in the "Culture and Entertainment" category.
The competition was an initiative of the Canadian Magazine Publishers Association, which distributes the Journal and many other Canadian periodicals to retailers across the country.
Judges for the competition included musician Susan Aglukark; television personality Vicki Gabereau; publisher Douglas Gibson; advertising creative director Jane Hope; journalist Francine Pelletier; and editor and television host Evan Solomon.
